We continue on east and then just a little north to the city that shares it name with its sister city over the Canadian border, Sault Sainte Marie. Our plan was to see the Soo Locks and then take a quick day trip in the truck over the border.

The Soo Locks have been referred to as one of the great wonders of the world and are still the largest & one of the busiest waterway traffic systems on earth! Watching huge vessels pass through the Locks ...

Leaden grey skies and rain welcomed us to Ontario as we passed through Kenora, home of Husky the Muskie ( a sturgeon or Jackfish?). What a great day! Beautiful weather all the way along and literally open road--only a few construction zones but they were a breeze. Thanks for the texts and calls along the way...they kept me amused and for once, some of us finally had time to catch up!

When I left this morning, I wasn't sure how my hyperactive brain was going to handle so much time to think but, amazingly, I made it through the day ...

... eased and we decide to drive to Sault Ste. Marie to have a look around. A large city (Population 75,000) that is on both sides of St Mary River with is the border between USA and Canada. Jill being a bit difficult with directions but lady attendant at Esso Station gave us directions to the Boardwalk on the river. Jill finally came good and we parked at the big Station Mall and walked around a section of ...
