Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States vera_und_alex... in Wyoming looked good. The van was making a loud knocking noise on the rough roads so I checked underneath and found a loose rear shock. So we are stuck here until it is fixed drinking wine and watching HBO. Stay tuned. Nels

.
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States reneltrek... west boom town. The coal and oil industry's are really expanding. New buildings going up everywhere. Everyone here drives a 4 wheel drive pick up - and I mean everyone. Driving a Chevy Impala made me just a little afraid. I added some of the better photos from my days in Chicago. Tomorrow we land in Eagle, ID.
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States leonardgrill... an area where there were snow patches on the ground at highway level but far away in the hills. At some place west of Laramie on Hwy I-80, as I was thinking about the book 'My Friend Flicka' which was set in the Snowy Range west of Laramie and was one of my favorite girlhood books, I crossed the Continental Divide at 7,000 feet. I told Scooter it was all downhill from that point westward. He didn't seem impressed, but I was because it really felt as though I was on my ...
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States rvrladypat... that was designed with rounded corners and the corners were made with bricks that had slots designed into each brick. Very ingenious, but it made me wonder how the farmers keep the rodents out of the corn in the crib. All day so far the highway had been climbing slowly, and by the time I reached Wyoming, and especially Cheyenne, I felt as though I was on the top of the world. Before that even, I felt at home when I saw real mountains again with snow on top! I even drove ...
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States rvrladypat... you follow this road. I took a photo at a rest stop just to show the snow and wind - note the flags. When I arrived in Rock Springs I drove out to the Wild Horse Rescue ranch and looked at the horses. I was going to adopt one for Carol, but it was too late and the office was closed. I have some better photos of the horses, but will not be able to load them till I get home.
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States leonardgrillThis day we toured Grand Teton National Park. The scenery was even better than Yellowstone although the haze in front of the mountains never really cleared. Had another leisurely picnic by a river and talked to one of the tour guides for the river float that was taking out of the place we were resting. He reported that a grissly bear was in the area and we ...
Green River, Wyoming, United States lfont... until you loose most of what you put in. you walk out of the building not knowing whether it's day or night... Well, it's way into the night right now. Mountain Time with its 1 hour ahead makes us sleepy, especially Nazar who is way into Dream Land by now... I'm ready too... Good Night! Isa*Bella
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States studioizar... We ended up getting the last of three rooms (the last non-smoking) at an Econo-Lodge. If we didn't get that room, it would have been a decision to sleep in a smoking room or the car. Both equally undesirable. (3) If Wal-Mart already stresses you out, don't go into a Wal-Mart SuperCenter--Pretty self-explanatory. Do you know how many people go to those places?! It's incredible! Anyway, the less stress inflicted during ...
