    ... to have some excellent and interesting food on it; he didn't disappoint with the first stop as we had maple bacon apple donuts and spiced chocolate donuts! They were delicious. We then went down the crookedest street in the world which is Lombard Street and had a walk around the more touristy areas of San Fran.     Woken at half 5am or something very close, one of our 22 friends decided to make the loudest noises while waking up and separately between this ridiculous hour the place felt like China town. Loud Chinese/Korean people waking everyone up, not that I can sleep in a bright room but they were a tad rude. Not being able to sleep we got up for breakfast. Bagel and juice, staples!! We started the day by walking all the way to Golden Gate, apparently just short of 3 ...

    ... there was still a lot of poverty in that area of town, and all over the city really. That's something that's really surprised me, and is definitely more prevalent, if not more noticeable here than at home. There's so many people begging on the streets, or clearly homeless and deprived, and there seem to be a high number of them that are suffering with mental health problems. It's really sad to see.
