    ... headed to the Westfield centre, Just south of Union Square. This is a huge mall on Market street filled with a mix of shops, food establishments, and a massive Nordstrom for any Norstrom fans. A really benefit of San Francisco is that although the streets are done in blocks, they are not that big unlike some cities. It makes walking around this city easy and enjoyable.

    Tomorrow we are hoping to go to Muir woods and visit the golden gate bridge - looking good!

    ... made it a perfect fit as first a military garrison and then a military followed by a federal prison. It may be just a mile or so out in the bay, but to escape required a swim through the freezing, treachorous waters and strong currents of the San Francisco bay. The short boat trip over provided perfect views of the craggy island and a great appreciation of the natural barrier that the bay waters provide.
