... from an animal called a musk ox - the animal sheds its wool and the native women collect the wool and weave it into caps and scarves. it is softer than angora, warmer than wool and washable. unfortunaley it is rare and very expensive- a simple cap costs about $200. Ankorage is the biggest city in Alaska and it looks like a small city but from our hotel room we can see mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. The weather is delightful - low 70's. it should be colder as we go further north but this is just lovely now.
