... No fights, no melt downs, no major mechanical failures and like I said, only 1 day of rain!

So the long and short of it Dear Readers, is that we did it. We learned to ride a bike in 50 days or less. We did it with a lot of love from you all, great new friends along the way, and with each other, even when it was up hill all day.

... and we didn't stay with host families, so it doesn't feel like we ever really experienced Australian culture. The only time I ever really talked with Australian people who were my age was the one night at the hotel at the Gold Coast. That was a lot of fun and I wish I could have met more people like those two girls.

My sister was kind enough to buy me a ticket home for Christmas! Thanks Shannon! I wouldn't have been able to come home otherwise. It was a quick, spur of the moment trip so I'm sorry that I didn't get to see everyone that I wanted to (or even let most of you know that I was going to make it). My trips are so short and my family doesn't like to share me for the short time they have me. I should be in Boston in 2012. And can't wait to see everyone ...

... de zwarte bevrijdingsbeweging hier in Amerika met mensen als Martin Luther King en James Baldwin enz. hebben we de zwarte geschiedenis van de Carolina's ' gedaan'. Allereerst naar Stagville, de grootste plantage van North Carolina (900 slaven) waar we een tour kregen, juist ja, per auto. De plantage wordt gerund door vrijwilligers die deels afstammen van de slaven die daar gewoond en gewerkt hebben. Zowel in Stagville als in Charleston later in die week werd heel zichtbaar ...
