Monday we drove to Wagga, close to a six hour drive, and surprised my brother Peter! It was wonderful to see his face. Initially he just didn't realize who we were, but in seconds the penny dropped and he was suitably "gobsmacked"! We have had a super six days with them. The weather has been totally unseasonable for them i.e. cold and wet!! But they have been glad of the rain and it just hasn't mattered. We haven't ...
Nothing too exciting happening here at the moment. I am merely trying out Mini Me the notebook computer to see if I am computer literate enough to be able to manage a blog!! We leave Saturday week and while the excitement levels are high..at least one of us is ...
Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia newbloggerWagga Wagga After delaying our departure 1 day we spent the first night away at the Rossiter family guest house and spend a great quick night over a couple of beers and a home made Rossiter Pizza. Great to catch up with friends and this will be one thing both Rebecca, myself and the kids will find the hardest over the next 10 months To all the people we missed on the way north we will catch up with on the way south next year
Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia middletonfamily... nor drinking. The good news is that it is much warmer in the north, so the weather was beautiful, and the people we ran into were very nice. I have noticed in my travels that people in smaller towns tend to be a lot friendlier than those in larger towns, but I suppose that is true in the US as well. After arriving in Wagga Wagga, we wandered around town for a bit and checked out the botanical gardens and the ...
Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia moppet77... Jenny, I wish you had been there, it was just like that time Rab and I dropped you down to Fermanagh on Christmas Eve, you would have loved it! Naturally, I won the most gummy snakes, and if anyone suggests that it was because I kept changing the rules to suit myself, don't believe a word of it... P.S. Fiona, thanks for the tip-off, I was stunned and delighted to pick up the Martin Hayes cd in Canberra... he's as good as it gets!
Mount Kosciuszko, Australia fishtails04... it at a roadhouse and saw that Wagga Wagga, my next booked room, was 402km away. It was now approaching 4pm. ****! Towards Hay the highway heads into some proper outback, reminding me again of the tour, several dust devils prowled the flat horizon as I drove E. I must have been in the proper outback as several oncoming truckies waved as they passed me. Everyone has waved at Macka in the outback so this felt pretty cool. I stopped at Hay for petrol and quickly diverted to look ...
Wagga Wagga, Australia shaunb... We also now know who the "Wiggles" are (if you don't have kids, you probably wouldn't know either). It's going to be very difficult to get back on the road after being so spoilt! Thanks very much to the both of you to the wonderful time we had, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to be able to repay the favour some day. Wagga Wagga, Australia vine_hooligansThis morning we headed off to the Botanical Gardens where there is a miniature railway which runs each 1st and 3rd Sunday of the Month - and guess what - today is the 1st Sunday!! We decided to take a ride to see where best to take photographs. The layout is quite extensive and well thought out - it runs between the Botanical Gardens and the Zoo, to the ...
Wagga Wagga, Australia newtripper... with amusement as I backed the van into the site, especially as I put it exactly where I wanted it first go, which unfortunately was the wrong side of the site - brain dead again. The guy opposite (Lloyd) was friendly and moved his car for me so I could pull forward and back into the other side. Took a few goes - sorry Clynton. But eventually it was in place. The lady (Jenny) could not believe that a women would attempt to reverse a van into a site!! We were so ...
