Beautiful Port Fairy

... ohne "Risiko".

Apollo Bay to Port Fairy (seriously, Port Fairy)

... morning grunts to each other were less aggressive than usual. Perhaps the Great Outdoors was soothing our city-ravaged souls. Or perhaps we were both just relieved that we'd bought the mattress after all (I had been very comfortable as I lay gripped with fear that the wind would tear up our tent and deposit us in the broiling sea). The gods were smiling on us and the rain let up briefly allowing us to gather our belongings together and ...

Port Fairy Folk Festival

... around the grounds too. For instance, Tom was selected from an audience to help 'Miss Australia 1963' with her act which involved a beauty pagent. As 'Me England,' he had to demonstrate his air guitar skills as well as catwalking in lipstick! Funnily enough two of the best acts we saw were from the north of England! Was good to hear the lancashire accent! Hopefully the pictures will give you a taste of the weekend. Not long now until our flight to NZ!

PORT FAIRY Day 1

... IRISH. On the way Killarney got a mention and Belfast is the original and alternate name of Port Fairy. Checked in at Southcombe by the beach. It had only just opened Dec 1st - a seasonal campsite run by the council I believe. It is the same place where the Folk festival takes place in March every year, the same festival that swells the town from its usual 2500 residents to near 40,000!!! It only took 1 and 1/2 hrs to set up and we were soon off ...

Suivons l'ocean!!!

... couche tot, a environ 5 heures.

Going Topless on the Great Ocean Road

... an Audi A4 convertible to drive Australia´s most scenic road, and Maud was itching to get into the drivers seat after a month of driving a campervan. After managing to squash our stuff into the boot we put the hood down and Maud put her foot down to get to our destination for the night. As we only picked up the car at noon we had decided to do the quicker inland route to Warrnambool to leave a full day for driving the Great Ocean Road on the return ...

Magical times

... you like to dance.....Hey In Bristol we just got on and jammed in and out of the flow with different people. That is what was so exciting about it...the freedom!! Anyhow that's a bit of a cheeky rant knowing nobody here will read it...Oooops I'm still cheeky and in respect to the dancers here they do flow beautifully and I will be going to some of there technical classes. My other set of workshops is called Chakra 2 Chakra. a set of seven. Each workshop will ...

Great Ocean Road

Yesterday morning after checking out of our hostel we went tramping (hiking) to Sabine Falls. It was a 2 1/2 hr. walk thru the rain forrest. We passed exotic foliage & bubbling brooks. Half way thru you come to the falls. After not exercising for a week - it felt so good to be out walking thru this lush forest. The weather is perfect. Such a difference from northern Australia ...

Great Ocean Road

... and not much else. We got a cottage behind the hotel and had dinner in the restaurant, "Talk of the Town." The food and ambiance were excellent and we warmed ourselves beside the fireplace while we ate the home made tomato and basil soup. After dinner we went for a walk in the park and discovered the Great Ocean Walk and followed it for about an hour. Tomorrow before we leave we are going to hike up it some more to Bowkers Beach.

The Great Ocean Road

... my friends Hanna and Natasha, and arranged to meet them later for a drink. Back at the hostel we got talking to other people and after a few drinks we were all ready for a good night out in St. Kilda. Definitely recommend it, a very trendy place. The following day we moved into the city centre and handed the car back...luckily with no dramas, as the chips in the paintwork (caused by attempted parking) went unnoticed!! ;-)
