Back in Nowra

We spend the day driving from Goulburn, where we stayed overnight and checked out Wollongong, a city just north of Nowra before heading back. Our visit was pretty much just a relaxing day. We ate lunch in the park and watched skydivers in tandem fall from the sky near the beach. Neat.
When we arrived back in Nowra, everyone had left. Matt, James and Rebecca had headed off to the Blue Mountains and all the weekenders had vacated. We had the field to ourselves, again.

Sport Climbing!

... A shame. The routes are definitely quality...but so many people know about the area anyways, I don't think it will keep climbers away!
It's funny how much we have gotten used to the full time camping life. Showers only once or twice a week (we sink bathe, honest!), buying the tried and true grocery list, living and breathing outdoors all the time - we love it. The only downside is that I have developed this ...

... are portaloos. Luckily we have a solar shower which is brilliant!! After a day in the sun it is super warm!! The portaloos were clean on the 1st night but deteriorated rapidly over the weekend! By Saturday night Annie and I either went in the bush (night) or in the sea (day) as it was smelling very ripe in there and spiders had decided the loos were a good place to hang out!!! As we were chilling in the evening kangaroos started hopping around in the bushes!! If ...

South New South Wales

... we discovered a few very nice beaches around Batemans Bay, Ulladula, and Jervis Bay, where we wanted to spend the night, but gave up after trying a few caravan parks - they were either completely packed, or nearly completely packed and expensive. It was still school holiday, so all the parks near beach were hopeless. Instead we drove a bit further and settled in Nowra for the night, it was a small clean park, nearly empty and, best of all, with wifi ...

Road Trip, Day 1...
To start our road trip, we needed to drive 8 hours to Melbourne to get to the ferry.
This meant an early start at 5.45 and 8 hours in the car with a 2 year old calls for lots of stops so we decided to do the whole tourist act and stop at all the tourist spots and photograph the "bigs"...

The Big Merino in Goulbourn, the Big Submarine (a.k.a. HMAS Otway) in Holbrook, the Dog on the Tuckerbox in ...

The luxury of a real bed

... when you saw the inspectors get on, and basically never pay for the thing (not that I ever did this, of course). Now however it's all changed. In my brief time here, we've seen inspectors multiple times, including plainclothes ones! And they move in packs so that if your mate gets nabbed, they'll also nab you as you stealthily try and validate your ticket... ) We spent four days hiking and camping in the beautiful Wilson's Promontory National Park, which is the southernmost tip of ...

... all day and never stopped singing. It got pretty hot in the afternoon as the sun came out and by the end of the day I have to admit that half of my face was a bit sunburnt! Not a good look! That evening I went out for a bite to eat so that I could properly meet his friend Kerry who he was travelling with, previously I had only seen here for 5 minutes in Melbourne when I was leaving and they were arriving.

In Sydney

... in a long time! We spent the rest of the evening wandering around the area and sussing out where the grocery shops are and neat places to see. Called it a night and both went to sleep. 4th At 4 o'clock in the morning as we are both sound asleep this horrible beeping noise starts going off- scaring the **** out of both of us and then we couldn't figure out what was going on. We weren't to worried as most of the people around us didn't' seem to ...

Back to Sydney, back to work.

The easter holidays are over, and we're all back to work. I think this is a good time to mention my new best friend, Maria. She won't let me take any photos of her, so let me describe her. She's 6'8", has long white hair down to her ****, one blue eye and one green eye and has a terrible fear of stamps. And until she lets me put a photo of her on, then this is just going to have to do. :)
