We had two birthday kids at two shows today! Yesterday, a kid had his whole party at the show, so all of his friends came with him and his mom bought them all cotton candy. Today's birthday kids had both chosen the circus as their birthday present so I made sure that John M. (our ringmaster) had their names ...

another 50 either inside or out. Country Nelson Jr. and his band were playing,
and they are all Mexican and play a great mix of country and Mexican tunes, we
were a little out of place, as it is mostly Winter Texan couples, and they are
all up dancing and partying. There are also a bunch of “old” fatboy bikers that
hang out here, and I am not talking about the bikes. ...

They’re friendly enough and beautiful and it breaks my heart a bit to not take them in, let alone pet them (although as soon as John M. and his family got to cookhouse, his 2-ish year old daughter made a beeline for one of them and proceeded to pet the dog’s head as we all laughed and groaned).
