Temperature tonight - 11 degrees Fahrenheit

Number of times I've cross the MS river to date - 29
Number of people who have visited my blog - 315!!
We then headed over to great river bluffs to start our first camping
experience of the trip. As we drove into the area we were in awe. We
were expecting a little camp group on the Mississippi River but this
place was something else. The panoramic views from the lookout points
were amazing and the campground was extremely remote. We were some of
the only people there but it was so nice. All you could hear were the
sounds of nature around ...
... s house. I headed to West Bend from there to spend a week with my eldest brother and his family. The week was spent at the YMCA, back and forth in the car from the town to the country, kayaking and frustration with visa organization (To be continued in another post).
It was great to spend time with that family and to build our relationship and bond before I disappear for who knows how long. The girls are growing up so fast ...
What a beautiful drive through the southern parts of South Dakota, Minnesota, and into Wisconsin! Rolling hills of yellow wild flowers in South Dakota. European-style farmhouses and those giant wind turbines everywhere along I-90 through Minnesota. And the giant bluffs along the flood-swollen Mississippi River as we entered Wisconsin ...
... Trees - this A frame has a straw bale roof as well and is beautiful. We also got to check out the attached greenhouse, two story office building, workshop and extensive gardens.
Amelia was very engaging and convinced Glenn 'if Roald can build these buildings, so can you!' Now full disclosure here - Roald is also Amelia's husband!
