... lots of colorful wooden buildings. But that was all we managed to see before hurrying back to the ship. We continue to sail pass islands, mostly flat now with farms and houses on the bigger ones. The weather is perfect again today, low to mid twenties. This afternoon the head chef gave a demonstration of filleting several large salmon and show how to cut the fillets for sushi. He explained how a mix of ...

... English signs, impossible to verify. On the ship we read and watched the scenery on this lovely warm sunny day. We passed a small island with a huge rock in the middle called Troghatten Mountain. It has a hole right through the middle, which is 480 feet long, 115 feet high and 35feet wide. Car park packed with cars and Motorhomes- glad we made the earlier trip and almost had the glacier to ourselves. So warm today, shirt sleeves. Amazing as we are going further north each day.

Drove to the Polar Centre on the ARCTIC CIRCLE - WOW again. Lots of photos. One of the "We have to get to there" ...

This morning we woke up bright and early to visit the local market with some of the children. To our delight, we got to travel with the kids in their open backed yellow truck which acts as their school bus. I've never seen so many children packed into one place! We learnt much more about the lodge today; it's made of up of children aged 3-15 who have either been orphaned or from disadvantaged backgrounds where their parents can't afford to take care of them at home. ...
