Skipped breakfast and went for brunch with Jan & Jack to a deli in nearby Vernon called Rein's. At the Tuesday Morning in the same strip center I bought a stocking cap for walking about Boston, as the weather is supposed to turn cold. Jan found just the perfect one for me--brown with a few stripes that matches my raincoat.

Drove Chris around Old Wethersfield, the cove and the historic homes ...

Jan & Jack arrived at 11:00 to take us for a beautiful drive in the country--Litchfield and Kent in western Connecticut. We stopped at Lake Waramaug and had an outdoor lunch at the Hopkins Inn overlooking the water, then drove on to Kent where we walked around town a bit, admiring the huge animal sculptures scattered about. ... surgery and was such a trooper to make the trip. We decided to meet them in the lobby for dinner later, then took off to explore Glastonbury. We walked Main Street, marveling at the beautiful leaves. After wandering a bit, we bought salad goods from Whole Foods for tomorrow, then walked back to the hotel, changed, and met all our friends for dinner at Max Fish restaurant.

... then, so that really has no relevance today. We managed to get the e-mail address of his boss, so we will try to get him to intervene. It’s criminal that these state–run facilities are taking full price from campers and then not bothering to keep them clean. Isn’t that what the fees are supposed to go towards, someone maintaining and cleaning the facilities??!!

A few miles back up the 108 and we re-joined Route 1 and headed south ...

I swear Greg must put some addictive drugs in the crab he feeds us in CT since we have a VERY strong hankering to come back each year. This year was no different although it was a bit tougher going to bring in the Blue crab feast. The kids had lots of fun augmenting thought with plenty of Snapper.
