      Cold nights makes one long for a little warmth and pampering, so tonight, seduced by the promise of an indoor pool and hot tub, we checked into the Days Inn in North Platte, somewhere in the middle of Nebraska.

      ... for human consumption. 2. Corn grown for ethanol is harvested while still green. 3. These fields, though not quite brown/dry yet, will soon be harvested because, when the kernels are mechanically separately from the husks and cobs, they can be mechanically dried....a necessary step before storage. 4.....and some other answers which I won't take your time with....oh, yes, these MILES of corn are from GMO seeds. Hummmm.

      ... which was a really pretty state park with a huge lake. Looks like a 4:00 arrival in Lincoln, Nebraska if I keep truckin down the road. I will be making a few more stops, though. My mom made me a bunch of killer road trip CDs that I’ve been jamming out to. I love it when I’m driving down the road and all I can see is green for miles. Not much civilization around here which is really nice. Back on the road I go!

      After our Fort Cody visit, we went to the Buffalo Bill Historical Park where I learned several facts about William Frederick Cody that go far and beyond the spectacle of his Wild West Traveling Entourage.

      ... looked to be an old trapper. He really looked the part, with clothes that a trapper would have worn. Animal fur. To top it off, he had a long, white beard. His name, he said, was Crazy Meek. He was representing a real trapper, by the name of Joe Meek, who apparently, along with his brother, trapped through that area and had a number of escapades.
