WE SURVIVED!

I only seemed to doze overnight as I could hear the wind howling and rattling windows and doors and even though we are on the 2nd floor, I could hear the rain hitting the ground it was that hard.

I contacted Nereo as soon as I could get reception to let him know everything was ok. He sounded a bit relieved.

We went to the Wright Bros memorial but they have closed it due to conditions - bugga.

So we went to an oyster …

... to see the third light. North Carolina Ferry System operates the ferries and there is no charge to ride from Hatteras Point to Ocracoke. This is North Carolinas oldest operating light, it stands 75 feet tall, and was built in 1823. It had a 4th order Fresnel lens, and is a harbor light.

We start heading west on Wednesday, going to the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. See you there.

And the adventure continues,
