I only seemed to doze overnight as I could hear the wind howling and rattling windows and doors and even though we are on the 2nd floor, I could hear the rain hitting the ground it was that hard.
I contacted Nereo as soon as I could get reception to let him know everything was ok. He sounded a bit relieved.
Gail took me down to see the sand dunes where they do the hang gliding. It's not happening today coz the alert is still in place. We have been told Arthur is gonna hit around 2 am and it's gonna be a direct hit.
We went to the Wright Bros memorial but they have closed it due to conditions - bugga.
So we went to an oyster …
Got up early and packed the car. It was overloaded with 5 peoples clothes, food, beach gear and of course, the essential esky full of beers & southern.
Just as we were about to leave, all our phones started beeping the alert sound. A hurricane is building off the coast of Florida, and is going to move up the coast of Sth. Carolina …
Check out these photos from Jennette's Pier, Wright Brother's Memorial, and Jockey's Ridge!
Well the Hurricanes are resting now at the hotel until dinner but what a day it has been. The Sand Dunes were prettyfun. A few us was able to race up some, but Ms. Candy Jones ended up crawling poor her. But other than that we are having a blast at OBX. -Breon
