      The continuing road show

A travel blog entry by rnrontheroad on Aug 01, 2014

Made it all the way to Newberry, Mi last night and stayed at a Comfort Inn. These places are pretty basic, but they have a free breakfast so that helps. This morning's fare was waffles that you make yourself, eggs and sausages, various cereals, fresh fruit, doughnuts, toast, coffee and juice...hard not to have too much.... We both had dreams last night that replayed that accident from yesterday...i think that was to make sure we understood how lucky we ...

... went the southern route and we found the Sedney National Wildlife Preserve. There is a 7 mile ride through the preserve which we decided to take. It was so well kept and we were surrounded by marshes and bogs. It started to rain as soon as we started, but it was still worth the ride. It was even nicer watching the rain hitting the ...

I may need a bit more time to get those pictures loaded on here. We left our campsite around 10 this morning and did not get back until 4. It was supposed to rain today, but it turned out to be ...

... the center of the Upper Peninsula - this way, we can travel all around during the 3 days we are here. The campground is so nice - it's a family owned campground and the couple running it are the sweetest. It's small, beautiful sites, clean/comfy and quiet. So happy we found this place. It was recommended by Good Sams and they did get this one right. Loving retirement!!!! ...

We arrived just after a heavy rain storm, set up camp before dark and rushed off the the Brewery restaurant for supper before they stopped serving. Enjoyed two delicious beers with supper, a stout and then an amber red. Next day hiked to see the lower falls and then the upper falls which are the 2nd largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. The beautiful rust and golden colour is from all the iron.
