Historical Traveler Reviews of Comfort Inn - Nashville / Demonbreun Street

Great>>> Great>> Look no further

I stayed at the this location last week. I read all the reviews and wasn't sure whether I should stay or not with all the mixed responses in these reviews. But I'm glad I picked this location.

-Location is perfect for Downtown and/or Music Row on foot and right off the freeway.

-Old Structure, but recntly rennovated, really good job.

-Manager was very kind and very helpful. Gave us good directions and maps and brochres.

-Breakfast was a great head start to look forward too.

-Rooms could be a little tight for a family of four, but didn't matter to me since I was by myself.

-CLEAN PLACE, DO NOT HESITATE.......

Great location for Downtown Nashville but....

This hotel is located off 40 West in downtown Nashville and is centrally located to many things in the area. My wife and I prefer comfort suites and sleep inns to many of the other hotels in the same price range. This hotel is located less than one mile from the Tennessee Titans coliseum, the old grand ole opry building and many things downtown and is near Vanderbilt University. Upon checking in I inquired about upgrading to a jacuzzi suite and was told it would be an additional $30. I did not accept the room rate and stayed in my original room. The room itself had a king size bed and it was very comfortable. However the bathroom was about the size of a telephone booth. Not much room to turn around in or have more than one person in it at a time. Also alot of fans for the football and hockey game seemed to stay at this hotel making it noisy at night. We did not try the continental breakfast due the number of good restaruants in the area. If you stay here, try Noshville which is down the street on Broadway. It is a new york style deli and its great! Overall I will stay here again because of one thing...Location, location, location....

This Place is a Hole

We were on the road and had the Comfort Inn atlas with us, found what looked to be the most central location, and called ahead to book it for two nights. As soon as we checked in, I realized what a mistake we had made. Night One was going to cost us $69 (which seemed reasonable enough), but Night Two was going to cost us $119 (which seemed like robbery). The desk clerk told us that the second night would cost so much because there was a "game" in town. Their professional basketball and hockey teams were out of town, and we didn't see that any Vanderbilt teams were playing either. So we don't know what "game" was supposedly causing this jump in the rate. All I know is we were being hosed, and it pissed me off.

I don't mind things that are old or need updating as long as they're clean. That isn't the case here. The lobby is shoddy. The cement on the outdoor pathways is chipping and cracking with pieces lying everywhere. The carpet in our room was frayed and hasn't been cleaned in decades. There are spots all over the walls, especially in the bathroom next to the toilet (possibly mold or mildew?). There is mildew and gunk showing through the clear plastic shower faucet. Every metal surface (on the lamps and other fixtures) is pitted and tarnished. And the coffee pot hadn't been cleaned. It was actually stuck to the burner. This was unacceptable!

Like I said:

$69 is one thing; $119 is another.

Old is fine; dirty is not.

One minute after going through our crappy room, I was on the phone to try to find other accommodations. Unfortunately, there were some conventions in town, and downtown hotels were booked. We opted to stick it out for only the one night and then hightailed it out of there.

Good Value for Money

We arrived mid evening having rejected a room at the CountrySide Inn over by Opryland.

The check in staff were very pleasant and helpful and let us view a couple of rooms even though they had very few vacancies, and even reduced the price a bit.

The breakfast was good which we enjoyed by the pool.

Very well placed for Music Row but really a bit far to walk to Downtown

Best Choice For Location

Stayed at this property a total of three nights this summer. It was near entainment venues where my son was performing and being from out of state I wanted to make sure I could find the venues- The Comfort Inn is near everything downtown- The room was dirty and worn- The breakfast was fine- Did not feel safe at this place- The men at the front desk were helpful- The women seemed disinterested in helping guests. Was supposed to have given me directions to the Bluebird Cafe and gave me the wrong directions- Overall, This hotel needs to work on updating rooms and customer service-

Quiet, good location, but NASTY ROOM

from A TripAdvisor Member
The staff was nice, the location was great, but the room was horrible. There were holes in the wall behind the toilet, the toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall. The bathtub was filthy. The ironing board was set up near the bathroom sink and was broken. My pillow was dirty from the previous guest. The air conditioner was missing parts and did not work good. Had I paid a lower price, and stayed in lower class motel, I might have expected these conditions. Since I prepaid for the room and was on a limited travelling budget, I had no choice but to stay there. I won't stay there again.

Wonderful

A wonderful place to stay. We are from Sweden and booked a room at Days Inn and I was bitten of bedbugs. We changed hotel to ComFort Inn and the owner was very kind to us and help us very much. Clean room and nice stuff.

Good Location

from A TripAdvisor Member
The staff was very friendly and the rooms clean. We had booked three rooms and they were all together in the same area of the hotel. They did provide a continental breakfast which was a bonus. Parking was at a premium if you left the motel and came back later in the evening. There are a few "Hot Spots" across the street and a lot of the cars parked in the motel lot. There was a basketball tournament in town and motels were hard to find. I felt they jacked the rates up because of the basketball tournament in town, but we couldn't get a decent room anywhere else. Great location if you want to be close to music row and downtown, but not close to the Grand Old Opry.

Overall a NICE STAY

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at this Comfort Inn on our way back from Knoxville and the Staff was really nice and went beyond its limits to help the guest.

Rooms were newly rennovated, except for the carpet and the location was the most convenient from Downtwon Nashville and great access to the freeway. The breakfast was nice and good head start.

Shoney's Review

from A TripAdvisor Member
We were very disappointed in our stay at the Shoney's Inn Music Row (Demonbruen Street). The carpet was very very dirty, dead bugs on the floor in the bathroom, the fan vent cover in the bathroom was falling off and very dirty behind it. The rooms need lots of help. Needless to say for the amount it cost us for night we could have stayed else where for 2 nights and had cleaner accommodations. I must say the staff were friendly but never asked about the accommodations.
