    A day in Munising

Leisurely morning today. Short walk to Munising falls through very pretty Beech and Maple forest. at one time the track went behind the falls but no longer as the limestone rock is eroding too quickly and the track is not safe.

Went to Miners Falls which are a little taller and also pretty. At the right time of the day, a rainbow would just top off the scene.

Walked 1.6 km (mostly downhill over tree roots) to Miners Beach. Paddled in the fresh water - not ...

... considered to be sparsely inhabited but by our standards it was not. The small towns are quite large.

We have 2 little houses near the waterfront. We can see across Lake Superior to Grand Island. We are sitting drinking wine and beer. Wes is actually drinking Fosters - a present from one of the Kriewaldt cousins who thought he might be homesick for it. It is in a huge can - 750 ml and is brewed in USA. He has donated the rest of the cans to the family with whom we stayed!!!!

... painting- true to it's name. The cliffs had sea caves carved into them along with waterfalls and beautiful beaches. The lake water was so clear and blue. Truly a great afternoon. Off to Tahquamenon State Park tomorrow and camping at the Hemlock Lower Falls for 3 days. Many things to see in this area. We are looking forward to visiting the National Shipwreck Museum located at Whitefish Point. No WiFi here so will post this tomorrow. Life is ...

... Just some observations from this trip as we travel down the road... We have started earlier than we usually do because we don't have to break camp or dump tanks or even make coffee...my new observation today is that Ron is a lot like Bronwyn in the morning....he's way too bright and chipper especially compared to me, iwho has never been a morning person... We have driven longer each day to speed up ...

Well, now I know why I stopped sleeping in tents! The ground is hard. It's far from the bathroom and no matter how little water you drink before bed, you will have to go in the middle of the night! And when you do, it's cold and the dew has fallen....what fun! Oh yeah, and most KOA campsites are near the railroad or airport or some other noisy entity...this morning it was a plane taking off in the field right beside us and then some yahoo in a loud car racing down what seemed to ...
