Dayton to Illinois State...back to Normal
Got an early start and made it back to Normal in time to have lunch at Avanti's. Better than we remembered...gondolas and sausage sandwich. AC & Ham Whit just look sad. Empty, gray, dark and lonely. *sigh* The new res center where Walker was is fantastic! Kudos to the student staff - very welcoming and helpful with a quick tour. West Chester to Dayton
Day one went quite well - the trees are turning beautifully through the mountains. left in a bit of rain and soon drove out of the fog and gray and into sun and fall foliage. Made it to Dayton with enough time to get to the Air Museum at Wright Patterson AFB, always a favorite, and still free to visit. http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/ Check out their collection on the website.
