... it was pretty cloudy and thundery...then just as we turned to make our way back to the hostel...the heavens opened and its absolutely chucked it down!! By the time we got back to the hostel, we were drenched! It was quite nice to actually be a bit cold though!!

We then had a quiet evening planning a few more bits, writing some of these, before getting an early night.

... jetty and have some delicious fish and chips by the sea. The sugar industry has built a 5.76 kilometre jetty to load the processed sugar cane onto ships.

We are having a wonderful time in Far North Queensland, a beautiful and interesting place to visit. I don't think we'd like it as much in the 'wet season' when cyclones come.

... that paid us a visit... We had a glass of the vintage £2.50 Shiraz and cooked a feast of stir fry. ... much to see (its pretty much all banana groves) but it was nice to put a place to the name. We ended up staying the night here as the site we wanted to check into at Mission Beach was the cheapest and couldn't book into so knew we'd need to be there early to get a spot and after spending the afternoon at Millaa Milla, that wasn't happening. ... is slightly smaller than a ostrich with colourful markings around its neck and is capable of killing a human using it's claws. We really wanted to see one but it wasn't to be.
