This is my kind of world. Hershey's Chocolate World is a delicious place. The tour is adorable (we did it twice) and it smells amazing. Sure all the products are overpriced but it is a very cool place to go! It was our last Hurrah on this crazy adventure. Chocolate World is a huge store with a bunch of different activities. I am actually glad we took the kids swimming and ate a huge lunch before going. It would be easy to just eat until we burst of we hadn't done that. They have ...

First thing first Carrie and I got souvenirs! Four new tires for the Subaru - woo hoo. There was a sale too buy 3 tires and get 1 free. What a deal. Grrrrrr so $750 dollars later we now have shiny new tires and hopefully a safe and uneventful ride home. Today dawned humid and overcast but Claire and Oriah could not wait to get to Hershey Park! We shuttled over in shifts (since we dropped the car off this morning and begged for them ...

Today we drove from the western area of Pennsylvania east to Hershey to meet up with Grandmama and Grandpapa and spend the next two days at Hershey Park and Hershey's Chocolate World (Yum!). This is our last big Hurrah before we head home on Saturday We got to the Hershey area, checked into the Hershey Campground and set up our camp. Then we headed to meet up with Tony and Dottie and we surprised them as they were coming off the elevator! So so so exciting to see a bit of home ...

... with the heat, and as much as I hate to do it - he is going back home tomorrow. I can't risk hurting him with heat issues, 12 years old - he just can't safely handle it anymore :( . At least I had a few days with him by my side :) He will be missed! Friday, June 20 2014 A long flat 15 miles of hiking today! For some reason, these flat portions seem to wear us out faster than the steep ups and downs do??!! I passed the berry tree by the farmers ...

Hershey world in the town of Hershey

A travel blog entry by shanstravels on Oct 15, 2012

Behind the Hershey empire lies a story of rags to riches. A young man from a large family perfects a chocolate recipe and builds a town for his factory workers to live in and a chocolate and candy legacy. With a theme park, stadium, museum, and many other great facilities, we greatly enjoyed the town of Hershey. Our highlight was the building of ...
