... lift locks and a marine railway. The 202 km long Rideau Canal was built 175 years ago, with 24 lock-stations, 47 locks and is rated #2 on National Geographic’s "Must See" list because of its uniqueness, authenticity and stewardship. Some day, we’ll experience both – maybe when Tim & Sue retire (she was born here).

· Due to our short stay, we didn’t have ...

I'm strictly Canadian for the next few days...and I actually had a Canadian lite beer. Speelman's. It was quite tasty!

I am going to try to add photos to this travel blog...but I forgot the cord to transfer photos to my computer! Kingston, Ontario, Canada laura3849May 11 Nice shower in warm private room this morning! A nice change after the hostels. Also had a television again - yay! Out relatively early to hike up Arthur's Seat. Got a map of the visitors centre at the bottom. We read a suggested path from someone on-line and followed those trails. First stop was a ruined chapel and well - didn't see the well but the chapel was cool. Continued up and were amazed at some dogs going up and down and up and down the ...
Edinburgh, United Kingdom jae... At least I hope that's it :P I wanted to leave in the morning from here but we most likely aren't leaving until around 5pm. It means we'll get to our hotel around midnight, give or take some time. I'm hoping something can be worked out so we can leave earlier.
Kingston, Ontario, Canada mgbmdriSenica and I went for along and scenic drive through rural roads to Westport. We saw lots of lakes and stopped for dinner in the small tourist town of Westport where the Big Rideau Lake meets Wolf Lake. We climbed Foley's mountain after dinner and had a nice lookout over the town. Then we meandered through the quiet streets before driving home.
Westport, Ontario, Canada lolly... in the evening. The first flight is to London, Heathrow which I'll be making with Mike, Alexis and Amanda. At Heathrow we will meet up with Dave, Victoria, Jackie and Kara and we fly to Accra, Ghana in the afternoon of the next day. We'll be in Accra in the evening on June 23rd. And that's when the heat will hit! I'm very excited, a bit scared, but mostly just thrilled :) Ela
Kingston, Ontario, Canada ela_pagaczSenica and I took a long drive today. It was lovely to explore the area. We were definitly travelling on the scenic route. I have never seen Wolfe Lake before, nor driven all the way around Devil Lake. We had a lovely dinner for two at a Greek Restaurant in Wesport.
Westport, Ontario, Canada lolly... much like when we entered the US. As I drove over the bridge back to Canada I belted out the national anthem like the dork that I am :P I was happy to be home. I'd love to go back and see some of the same places. I'd love to go back and see the places I wasn't able to get to.
