The way we went cut 30 miles off the route and there were no sheer drop offs. Not as many beautiful vistas, but since it was so cloudy and foggy in places, we probably could not have seen anything anyway.

Cloudcroft is at 8650 ft. It is a small village ...

It's been cloudy and drizzly all day, so it was a good day to clean and do laundry. I guess I need to do the same thing once we return to our S&B house, esp since we're having company the middle of Oct and since our S&B house is much bigger than this one, it will take all that time!

But during its hey day it enjoyed prosperity and became famous for the exciting and lawless times of the Lincoln County War which included Billy the Kid. The road which runs through the center of town (in truth, the only road) was once described by President Hayes as "the most dangerous street in America". Many historians consider this to be the most authentic old ...

... tee time wasn't until 3pm so after a brief stop at Walmart (again) we returned to home base and relaxed, ate lunch, I did a load of clothes and then off to the Cree Meadows Golf Club. This golf course is in a residential area and is up hill and down hill. During the "tour" I was trying to figure out which one was first, the course or the houses. To get to a couple of the holes, we had to drive our carts between a couple ...
