After casting off at 8am so we would have time to look round Brussels, we lined up for the first lock which was in sight of the marina. We radioed on the correct frequency but no reply, waited and tried again. We sounded ST horn then we saw some movement in the control box but he still hadn't replied and he made us wait. ... cafe (bit of a theme here) and tried some 11 and 12% beers, we only had 3 each but they literally put us on our asses and we had to go back to the hotel for an afternoon nap!!
