Kapitel 27: Marina 12. - 17. Juni 2008 5 Tage waren wir im Comfort Inn in Marina an der Monterey Bay. Wir gingen Haare schneiden, kauften einen weiteren Koffer und packten unsere ''wenigen'' Sachen um. ... the sea, with a lovely fire as it does get cold here at night. V nice furnishings and huge cosy bed. Plus you get your very own dune buggy to drive to and fro to the main hotel! We'll be sorry to leave this place! Off to San Francisco next, still on the Pacific Highway. Will stop at Half Moon Bay to have a look at very famous surf site called Mavericks, huge huge waves!

A couple of days in Monterey

Had a good day exploring the area. Started off first thing with a run, well, more of a walk, right the way along the coast from Monterey up towards Pebble Beach. It was a beautiful morning, and the sea lions were basking in the sun just down the road from the aquarium. We did have every intention of visiting the aquarium, but never got around to it.

... trails and stellar ocean views.  Unfortunately Mother Nature has been a little angry in the area and most of the parks in the region are closed as a result of the forest fires that have wreaked havoc over the last year.  They are expecting more of the same and are calling for even more severe droughts this year.  We did manage to do a couple of trails that took us through some beautiful Redwood forests and we even saw the only coastal waterfall ...
