    Hello!

I'd have to assume that if you're reading this blog you probably already know me, but on the outside chance you don't, let me introduce myself: My name is Andrew Lyon, I'm 23 years old, from Maquoketa, Iowa, and last May I graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA with my Bachelors degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. (That's me in the photo below!)

I'm starting this blog to document my time as an English teacher in ...

... for most excited: "Oh my GOSH!! They have zebras!! And, and OH MY GOSH!! CAMELS! They have CAMELS! AND ELEPHANTS! This is going to be THE BEST circus ever! Oh my gosh."

This is a catch up blog for this day so fairly short.

It was a long so called transit day ride from Cleveland in Ohio to Clinton in Iowa - a grand distance of 500 miles, mostly along the interstatewhere you can keep going at 75 mph.

We were doing well until a road closure followed by a missed turning took us through the middle of Chicago on a very hot Friday afternoon. 6 lanes of traffic all stacked up ...

First whole day at the Rally in Sturgis. What a busy day! Up at dawn. Hot water, good deal. Love it when the days starts reasonable. OK. Things to remember if I come back. Get a room or at least a site with power. The camping is free, they have showers, but only the real payers have water and power. How.small a generator do they make. Weather has been unbelievably good. No rain. We dodged a Thunderstorm ...

Day 5 ride North to Minnesota

It has to start with a dawn departure. Up before the crack of dawn. Bike prepped the night before, gassed and ready. Why do the tires always need air? It was a nice day to ride. Cool again in the morning, 58 degrees in the lower bottoms. Some fog. But have packed well so far. Put the lining in the jacket until the temp gets to 80, and it's not too bad. Yes, the heated seat and grips were on again. Hey, 60 degrees and off feels ...
