Okay so a bright and early start for us today as we were off to go back in time. We realised that we spent an extra day in Melbourne. So we had two choices - 1:- just push everything back a day & spend one day less in Adelaide or 2:- just drive straight through from Ballarat to Murray Bridge. We chose option 2 as it was easier to cancel just one accommodation booking than push all accommodation back. So with that sorted we carried on to Ballarat & Sovereign Hill. It took approx 1 & half hours...

Today has been a good day. Spent a full day at Sovereign Hill, a living history museum of a gold mining town in the 1850s when gold was discovered in Ballarat. Brilliant day as there was loads to do and the people working there were really interesting and knowledgeable. Highlights of the day included candle dipping, visiting the sweet shop and seeing how they made boiled sweets, a ...
Ballarat, Victoria, Australia alessa... camping supplies, firearms, ammunition, and other items that barely left room enough for two people to sit. We were met at the airport by Becky's son Mark who has a Hummer especially modified for off road driving and so began the journey across the Western states towards Indiana. Wayne and Mark rode in the Hummer while Daniel and I crowded into his Jeep. Our first stop was a semi-ghost ...

Mailing Rd., Australia carolinesheart... responded "up your bum" or if 19 was called out the host played a song about a boy who "was only 19"). If someone got bingo they had to scream out "fu*king bingo" and go on stage to spin the "wheel of death" which was a wheel made up of all dead famous australians (including Steve Irwin, Harold Holt(prime minister of Australia who drowned). Whoever the bingo winner landed on, they received some sort of momento ...
Melbourne, Australia avedawg314...
Melbourne, Australia rootaberger... mins! We then headed off on our long journey towards Perth! 2600kms roughly and we had to do it in 6 days! but it did only cost us $5 a day and fuel plus they gave us $250 towards the fuel so a cheap way of getting to Perth! We made it to Port Augusta the first night and stayed at a powered site there for $23 as we'd not drove too far that day. On the way we saw road trains steaming ahead and also a train with over 150 containers on which was obviously going to another state!
Melbourne, Australia heliwalker... in the sense that we fight/yell at each other , then we are fine 2minutes later. We even fought over the phone the other night....Sorry Sophie I won and Lilli got angry when I wouldn't answer the other line. Anyway enough about that. Thursday - Well we were meant to go out with Emma from work but she piked at last minute...And we are talking last minute. Lilli and I had already consumed our nights alcohol and were ready to go out. The heat was unbearable tho , and we ...
Melbourne, Australia lillireneeWe arrived at Ballarat today and stayed at a camp site that was approx 500m from Sovereign Hill, a 1800's Goldmine Town. Sovereign Hill is a purpose built 'themed town' to show you what the goldmines town used to look like... they even have a river in the town where you can pan for gold (that is put in the river each morning - only specks, but you catch my drift!). We went did a tour of a 'pretend ...
