    ... it is still dark out when we head out. must be getting further north! It is nice to drive with the tops down in the morning as the heat of the day has not set in yet... and the sunrise is amazing!!! A beautiful sight as we head north out of Texas and into New Mexico.... another State off the list.

    If I had to pick a State I would live in ... outside of California or Oregon that is ( surf people!! surf!!)

    Walked to umm... downing st (!) buy basic food -pretty **** but they had really great penatas. In the store next door, Dollar Tree (poundshop) they proudly advertise that 'We now take MasterCard' hahaha ... I waited again in beating hot sun for the bus,but this time found a tiny sliver of shadow from wooden telephone pole ... Just enough to not get burned.     ... you don't want to forget going to the UK. I've already had my requisite run in with the TSA. Kim stuck a water bottle into the backpack, thinking she would have it drunk by the time we got through security; however, she forgot. I, not realizing she had put it into the backpack, copped an eye-rolling, you've-got-to-be-kidding-me attitude with Ms. "Who's Your Daddy" TSA lady.     After checking in with Lynnie and getting Sooby hooked up and all, I got out of the Eagle River country about eight-thirty. I backtracked to Vail and then began a seriously, serious climb. Not much flat ground in this country, I reckon. I crested Vail Pass at 10,603 feet.
