Well...
We set out about 11AM yesterday, but Jess realized we forgot our National Park pass, we had to turn around at Hood River, and go all the way back to get it. Michelle met us in Cascade Locks, which saved us a little time, and two dollars to cross the bridge. Then, we were off for real this time. We drove all the way to Umatilla before we stopped for ...
... of those "Follow Me" vehicles. We follow this guy for 12 miles as we are going along we count no less than 6 "Follow Me" vehicles going the other direction and the worst part was there was not one single person working along this 12 miles. Crazy waste of money and manpower. Well this set the stage for the rest of the day.
After we had gone over the Lolo Pass which at the summit is the border of Montana/Idaho we are not tooling along enjoy the ride and whamo ...

Chewy reached into her purse and grabbed her camera. I leaned in for the perfect best friend photograph. Driving towards adventure! We often laugh about that picture because we both look so utterly exhausted.
Moscow, Idaho, United States wanderlustt... Marvalous. Keith, our Coushsurfing host in Moscow welcomed us. We got dinner in the Red Door, rented a movie (Till there was you) and had a good night sleep. Thank you Todd (Keaths roommate) for letting us sleep in your room. Sunday morning Peter (my husband) and Keith went for a cycling tour. This afternoon we'll drive from Moscow to Philipsburg, Montana. Jim and Karen are awaiting us (I hope ;))
Moscow, Idaho, United States topanga... to get fuel and discovered in the 11 miles we had traveled so far that day we now had a puncture in the Eagle, in one of the new tyres!! Luckily we were only 1 mile from a branch of the same tyre company which we had bought them from. So at 11am we hit road again after they repaired the hole free of charge! The rest of the day was spent getting as far as possible thru many orchard of apples and miles of rolling grass land.

Unfortunately, that few years has turned into 19. With distance learning programs becoming so prevalent, I'm hoping to be able to earn that PhD in the near future. After completing my Masters, we moved back east to Virginia Beach to live with our parents while I looked for a job.
Pullman, Washington, United States greg.mcghee... to be an internal battle in some of the farming towns we have visited. Stuck in the way things have always been, it is hard to move toward progress. Prosser seems to have found a balance between the two. Nestled away from the buzz of the Tri Cities, Prosser has become a commuter town for people who work and shop in or near the Tri Cities area. Our first stop in Prosser was yet ...

An awl, he informed me, was a tool for boring wood. Gary and his wife had retired to Idaho from Los Angeles to escape the rat race and lead a simple life. When I told him that I was on my way to California he went back to his trailer, re-emerging a couple of minutes later with a road atlas. We sat down at a picnic table and ...
Clarkston, Washington, United States fintan... Idaho followed by statehood in 1890. The first capital was here in Lewiston. Shortly afterward the capital was moved to Boise. Meanwhile silver was discovered in the Coeur d'Alene mountains north near Spokane. The resulting large, stable mining industry triggered an expansion of lumbering, ranching and agriculture all across the new state. The border line between Washington and Idaho near Lewiston reinforces my earlier observation that political ...
