Day 14 and 15 - Las Vegas!
Thursday 15th November I'm not gonna lie I pretty much had a PJ day - I didn't get out of bed till after midday! Once I finally got into gear that day I went in the direction of the Bellagio - strolled through the hotel first and was in total awe of everything. Nothing is done by halves at all, huge pools outside (deserted as off season) a million restaurants all of differing themes, designer stores and of course the casino floor crammed with ...
Last day in LA and on to Las Vegas
Sunday morning we woke up after a fairly good nights sleep - only with a minor interruption with a girl phoning our hotel room wanting a pizza....sorry, wrong number! We got up around 8 and went down to the hotel diner, today we were ready to face pancakes and waffles for breakfast. It was yummy!! Though I didn't expect to get 6 large thick pancakes on my plate. However they were delicious and the strawberries and blue berries on top just made it that much better (I ...

... our rather large room, we had a look around the Luxor and Mandalay Bay Casinos and then decided to try and find a Grand Canyon tour but the prices were ridiculous so we had to give in to the fact that it was out of our budget (and indeed Wayne's, which made us feel a little better). After that, we went to find the CSI Experience but on the way through the MGM, I got ill again and ended up having to spend most of my time searching out toilets. We did get ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Comfort Inn Airport Las Vegas
Bad Experience
I booked this hotel because I thought it would be clean and new because it was only two years old. What a mistake. This hotel was one of the dirtiest places I have ever stayed. The walls were dirty, the comforter had some white stain on it, and there was blood or some red stuff on the toilet handle. Then, around 1000 p.m. a whole colony of ants proceeded from a crack in the baseboard, up the wall, and into a crack on the kitchenette. There were stray ants crawling all over the place. I read an earlier review of the Comfort Inn that stated they too had run into ants but I thought how bad could the ants really be. I paid $62 and received a valuable lesson about the Dumpfort Inn. Unless you get an awesome deal and bring your own can of Raid and Lysol you would be better off staying at one of the hundreds of other hotels available nearby.
A nice place close to the action
This is a nice hotel in an excellent location. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the staff are very courteous and helpful. The hotel is close to the airport and the overhead noise from the incoming planes might be a factor for some. However, the noise stops in the late evening and doesn't continue again until the early morning. Even then it is not that bad. I never had any problems sleeping and i am a light sleeper. Having a small kicthenette really helps on saving money. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Comfort on a budget
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It is off the strip, so it's not as crowded and much quieter. The free airport/strip shuttle was very convenient. Nice continental breakfast as well. Good for carbo-loading before your strip journeys. Having the mini kitchen helps as well. When I wanted something else for breakfast, or some microwave popcorn, I can just heat it up with ease. I'm planning a girls week out trip and we're definitely staying here. One reviewer mentioned the keycard constantly losing its code and I was told that it's due to the hidden detectors outside every casino. They sometimes demagnetize the cards. I just made it a point to get a new one before going to my room each time. For some extra security in the strip casinos, it's a minor inconvenience.
Ok
Rooms were nice, clean, with a small kitchen area. Shuttle service was efficient. The big disappointment was the breakfast, which was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. We stayed for two nights. The first morning, there was no orange juice or tea available, and no butter. The second morning, only orange juice that was frozen solid in small containers was available. Pay the extra and stay on the strip the next time.
Very pleased with this hotel
I was very happy when I opened the door to the room of my hotel. Maybe it's because lately I'd only been staying at hostels, and this was actually a HOTEL. But more than that.. I only paid about $75 a night and had two beds (I'd requested two although it was just me), air conditioning, tv, coffee maker, cupboards, fridge, microwave, bathroom, a separate sink and mirror.. all the usual amenities, I know, but I was just surprised to find all this at such a low price. It was very spacious, very clean and well-kept. The most negative thing was walking back to my room at nighttime and having crickets jump up all over me, plus 2 crickets I found chirping in my bathroom! I didn't mind though; nice-looking pool too that I didn't get the chance to go into. It took me about 45 mins to walk to the strip, which isn't very far, esp. considering lots of people rent cars, etc. Also there are casinos on this street if you don't want to wait to get to the strip so it's in the middle of nowhere. I would definitely make this one of my first choices again when going to Las Vegas.
Mostly OK, But....
The place was mostly fine, if understaffed. But, we left a bag in our room and, though the hotel told us they had it and promised to send it back to us, they sent us the wrong item and, after assuring us they had the right one, never followed through and ignored phone calls to the manager. So, though we would have liked it, now we're cheesed off.
Good value for money
Good value for money... Fridge, microwave, and stovetop in room saved
us some money. Supermarkets were about 1 mile away on Tropicana Ave.
Nice pool area, fine for families and we were there during spring break week. About one mile from the strip but motel has a shuttle to MGM grand and the airport.
Continental breakfast, better selection some days than others but we
saw coffee, english muffins, bagels, danishes, cereals, apples,
oranges, juices.
Hotel is on airport approach but the noise never woke me up.
Only beef was room keys kept losing their coding and we had to go to
the front desk and get them reswiped almost daily.
Nice room and good value
Spent MLK weekend here and was impressed with our room. Not only did it have the now standard coffee maker but it also included a mini kitchen with a microwave, stove top and refrig. The rates were a bargain at $59/night and the location is across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel. Be sure and ask for a room that does not face Paradise Road to avoid any road noise.
Great location and value offstrip
Nothing beats the comfort inn for a last-minute weekend trip to vegas.
The rooms are clean, although the bathroom is tiny and the water pressure is not the best. It is perfectly situated across from the Hard Rock and right next to Club Paradise. The pool is really small, but there are usually some strippers in thong bikinis lounging nearby. The best thing of all is the $59 military rate on weekends. We stay here all the time.
A pleasant surprise
This motel has been completely remodeled. The rooms are tastefully decorated with cherry wood furniture. It offers kitchenettes with coffee maker and dishes/silverware. A free continental breakfast is included. The rooms were exceptionally clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. It does not include a casino, but is right across from the Hard Rock Casino. The drawbacks are that the rooms are open to the outside and the approach to the airport is very close (planes buzzing overhead). There is a wall around the facility for security.
