Arrived for a one night stay. Receptionist was pleasant and checked us in promptly. Room was excellent and very clean. Hotel is located right behind a shopping mall so that could be convenient for some people.
Receptionist gave us directions to several restaurants. Would stay here again as the hotel is very clean and bed comfortable.

The Lodge itself looked pretty spooky, so much so that it was used as the location for the hotel in the movie "The Shining" starring Jack Nicholson.

The mountain is snow capped all year around and was closed for skiing due to the inclement weather...took a couple of snaps and headed off on our way to Washington State.

We try to get them involved by asking them to observe so they can be of help later, but that tactic is about as effective as telling Chloe not to go in the water because she'll be cold when she gets out.

... mountain is only clearly visible 120 days of the year. On our way down people were just flocking up the pass but they would have missed the spectacular sighting that we got..  The area around there has been planted with Noble Firs, amongst other trees, and their symmetrical branches make such an interesting sight... Almost like looking at those pictures that you have to focus on to find something ...
