Arrived for a one night stay. Receptionist was pleasant and checked us in promptly. Room was excellent and very clean. Hotel is located right behind a shopping mall so that could be convenient for some people.
Receptionist gave us directions to several restaurants. Would stay here again as the hotel is very clean and bed comfortable.

As we reached the coast our first goal was Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock. We actually were able to walk on to the beach a little south of Cannon Beach. Although it was sunny, the air was chilly so we saw no one in the water. I,however, had to put my foot in the Pacific Ocean. We actually didn't stop to buy any wine, but we enjoyed a delicious lunch there in Walla Walla. We had just missed the Sweet Onion Festival but still managed to buy Walla Walla sweet onions!

... a while to get up to freeway speeds. In Oklahoma City, however, the acceleration ramps were very short. We dubbed them the "here you go and good luck to you" ramps as we merged slowly into traffic that was moving about 50 more mph than us.
Freeway speeds—Most states had reasonable top highway speeds. It was not uncommon to see 70 mph and 75 mph as the posted maximum. Utah even has a posted maximum of 80 mph, and I believe other states do ...

I will update you on my progress on this blog as often as I can, but know that it might not happen every day. As my friend Chris is often fond of saying, "It's not the destination, it's the journey..", so with that thought in mind it is time to begin my ...
