    ... and had coffee and some sweets. Later we drove over to Ellijay which was like a small version of Dahlongea but a bit kitschy. Pretty country though....rolling hills and apple farms.....later we went to a very 1950s diner for a burger and a huge thunder and lightning storm blew through....very fast and tons of rain for about 30 ...

    Woke up around doing 8 and had breakfast in the hotel...pretty good actually. Then we were off to Wakinsville first which is a tiny village about 15 min from Athens. It's not big b.ut after a few wrong turns we found the Elder Mill covered bridge outside the town.. It's a pretty area with rolling hills and large cattle/horse farms. We then went to Monroe for coffee ?.small , not exciting town. Then we went back to Athens and spent the afternoon at the Georgia State ...

    ... we quickly and happily surrendered to. After discovering it was actually a university town we capitalised on the $1 gin and tonics and we went to various bars- great atmosphere! Having had a fantastic night in Athens we decided we would stay another night so during the day we went to the Appalachians to hike up a waterfall. This was great however on the way down Alex got stung by a wasp. Funnily enough I then felt a wasp go down my shirt but thinking it had gone away 5 minutes later ...
