    Driving up through Georgia Alex was keen to find a plaque marking Sherman's controversial, brutal and finalising march during america's civil war which he wrote his dissertation. After driving for a good while through some very iconic Georgian towns we found one as we wondered around the city. We then continued onto Athens which we decided would be our resting place however when we arrived we did little resting as this little place had an astonishingly vibrant bar scene for a Monday ...

    ... The earlier service reminded us more of our service at home with contemporary songs and a praise team/ band. During the traditional service, Parker preached basically the same sermon, but the choir sang a song.

    ... were trying to find our way out back to a main street, our phone, Siri, get getting us back in the loop. We had stopped one mailman to ask directions and then we ended up seeing about 4 more - It was like they were following us, herding us out of the neighborhood. It was so funny.     ... went to see a movie at their new 12-screen Carmike Cinemaplex. We decided to watch whatever movie was the next available - it happened to be Divergent. We all like it pretty well. I think we were all surprised at how well we liked it. I'm glad I saw it, now I can dive into the book since I'll be teaching it next year. :-) Later we drove over to Athens and ate at The Varsity. I think the 2 coneys and onion rings will hold me for awhile....until the next trip ...
