A little slow starting this morning - it was cold and drizzling outside anyway.

Left the the hotel late morning and decided to drive around Cayuga Lake - one of the Finger Lakes. We drove up the east side - this whole area is very popular with New Yorkers who have summer houses up here. Some of the houses are just gorgeous.

... All of the flora is extra green, almost neon green ferns, bushes, and trees. Along the path back to the park entrance we took the Indian Trail which passed right by a huge cemetery. We hit the decks early to head to Watkins Glen. It took a couple hours to get to Seneca Lake through the canal and one lock. We saw more blue herons than we could count or photograph. The lake was calm and we had a very nice run down.

Another early start this morning to try and beat some of the traffic travelling on the roads on Memorial Day and we also have a 3 1/2 hour drive ahead of us. We drove to Corning, about an hour from Ithaca and stopped to have a look at the Corning Glass Museum.
