We had an excellent night and feel really refreshed even though I woke at 5.30am! I thought it was 6.30am and not worth going back to sleep as our alarm is set for 7am! It was only when I put my glasses on later that I realised my mistake. I can see clearly now!

After being online earlier to write an email, it has suddenly gone off and I can't reconnect. Why in this day and age can ...

Our phones have not been working properly over here - well data usage is fine, as are text messages, but its been hit and miss to actually call British phone numbers. There is not a whole lot in Ramsgate for tourist purposes (especially in winter), but we had to say goodbye to Claire’s aunt Sue and her Uncle Steve. It was nice to meet them. We went out for a drink at the Mariner bar. I wanted to go there because my hometown baseball team is the Seattle Mariner’s!

... on the French seaside...Churchill painted next to another man, and at the end of the day, they swapped paintings. So, somewhere in francs, a family owns a painting by WSC. I wonder if they know what they have. After the stud, we wandered down to the lakeside and crossed the bridge to the small island. There wasn't much to see, but it was till pleasant. Along the edge were black swans, looking for a handout.

We lunched in the nearby town ...
