Sunny skies greeted us as we got up and out early this morning to continue our sojourn across I-80. With a long day of driving ahead of us, I sought out quirky quick on and off the interstate things to see to break up the drive. We were quickly across the Mississippi River and into Iowa.

Had we left on the 4th, we would have been right in the middle of the snow storm. But we missed it. Because of a cold.
Sometimes, things happen for a reason. Makes you think, right?
As for our drive today? Uneventful. We got some wind and rain, but we’re safe and dry in Grand Island, Nebraska, because of a cold.

... was on cruise control most of the day as the road was so good. we have been aiming for North Platte, NE for a fuel stop and Flying J, our favorite fuel stop. We love those RV lanes.
We stop for lunch at a rest stop and then head on to Grand Island, NE for our one night stay at the local KOA. As we look West we see the setting sun in the West. Always a great thing to see.
