We leave tomorrow for Phase Two of our Mainland adventure...Mayo Clinic and surgery. But wait...there is a story from last week that just must be a part of our adventures!
We got a phone call from our house sitter telling us to call Mayo Clinic. So I dutifully called right away...and...was told that my wonderful retirement insurance company declined coverage for my surgery! After picking myself up off the ...
I write this on Monday, the 25th, but will be talking about a couple days ago. Therefore, I'm a little confused about what it means that I "set the date" to the 23rd, and the location to Evanston. My intention is to say that is the place and time of the events I'm describing, not my current whereabouts, which are much different (South Dakota, about five minutes from Mount Rushmore...but that's a blog entry for another day).

Made it home by 7:30 last night. I highly recommend that Lake Michigan ferry! Totally cool.
Busy today with laundry, groceries, etc. Gotta download some film and put something together for our friend who couldn't make any of the Power Tour this year.

I soaked the potatoes (which I poked a few holes in) in water for a couple of hours. Ken did this the last time we had baked potatoes, it keeps them moist, they don't get burned while on the BBQ and seems to add more flavor when done. I also rub the outside of the potatoes with olive oil before wrapping with aluminum foil.
