Comfort Inn Gulf Shores Al

De camino hacia New Orleans, paramos a visitar dos Parques Nacionales, el Big Lagoon, uno de los mejores parques en la costa de los USA, y el Tarkiln Bayou Park, caracterizado por las raras especies de plantas como algunas carnivoras.

On the way to New Orleans, we stopped to visit two national parks, Big Lagoon, one of the best parks on the coast of the USA, and Tarkiln Bayou Park, featuring the rare species of plants and some carnivores.

... since my inclination is to go faster than I should, so i pulled off and got a room. at 200pm local time. Today is my day off I guess. I will try again tomorrow. If its still bad weather i'm outta here and heading to SC. Oh, i gotta say after 700 odd miles with the cramp buster, i'm sold on that thing! It makes a huge difference! my hand still hurts but mostly from the previous days' ride.

Today has been a blur! I got into Houston last night at I dont konw what time, but it had just gotten dark. It was about 650 miles from New Mexico to Pearland (Houston TX), a very cool ride through Hill Country. Grif will be happy to know that i was drops away from running out of gas...I got off the little backroads and hit I-10 just as the low fuel light came on. Leeroy experienced a road trip U.S.A style 6:30am straight to the coach with a stop at Pensacola beach nice white sands e.t.c. for lunch & Avo...too bad there was a thunder storm warning so beach was closed for the afternoon so ended up a 8 hour straight drive.. the seas were angry that day my friends.

... come through and destroy these ones too. Why do we spend all this money to preserve the coast when it's most likely not going to last?

Then we drive over a bridge crossing an inlet and my skepticism is immediately replaced with wonderment.

What a piece of work this world is.

This was our first night on the road. We stayed at the Choice Inn, which was very nice for the price. Alex and Arielle liked the free bag of cookies, and the adults enjoyed a good night's sleep. Too bad the next morning got off to such a bad start, when we found a nail in our tire and had to drive around town til we found someone to fix it.

I met my good friend Mark in Gulf Shores to mark the bookend of my trip. We had a great time with his family doing the normal Gulf Shores things like lots of fishing, talking and whatnot. I did get a few pictures here, but at this ...

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL STAY AT THE BEACH. THE KIDS CAME IN THE NEXT NIGHT AT THE SUGAR BEACH CONDO. WE GOT THERE FIRST BECAUSE WE WANTED TO STAY ANOTHER DAY. WE STAYED AT AMERICA'S BEST INNS AND SUITES. WE REALLY DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. WE WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. THE ROOM WAS REALLY NICE. HAD A GOOD STAY THAT NIGHT. THE WEATHER WAS JUST WONDERFUL ...

... the sea gulls with little bit. They did and called us telling us that there was lots of cranes there. Well, we was in Foley already and turned around. I am glad they called because I did get some good pictures there. Like I said this trip was just too short. Our little sweetheart grand-baby was the best, sweetest little one on this trip! Thank You Father for a wonderful time with the kids.

Terry had planned to play golf at several of the Robert Trent Jones courses in Alabama, the first of which was near Foley. After his first game, he was driving around and he discovered an Alabama State Park a couple of miles away, at Gulf Shores. It was less than a half mile from the Gulf of Mexico coast and had a few lakes where he could fish, etc. I think he only played one more round of golf nearby and the rest of the time he fished.
