    Overnight in Appleton

    ... 2.5 hrs

  • Both ferries require that Rosie stay in a Kennel on the car deck or in our car WITH THE WINDOWS CLOSED.
  • WE'RE NOT ALLOWED ACCESS TO HER DURING THE TRIP

  • Thinking of other options. We really don't want to drive south (past Chicago) as it's boring, but the trip north (across the Mackinac bridge (back-tracking our arrival) is quite a bit longer but much more pleasant of a drive.

Around 1:00am I woke ...

... before our final flight, we didn't have much time to think about it. The last flight came and went uneventfully. We eased in to the partially snow covered runway and I silently cursed the fact that I was home (ok, yeah, I probably said it out loud too). Brenda texted her friend and we headed to baggage claim. One final selfie, a short drive home, and our Australian Adventure was officially over ...

... food...greasy, delicious fries and a sandwich were just what we needed. By the time we got to the gate, exhaustion was starting to set in. Just get us on that plane and let us sleep already! Oh no, couldn't be that easy. Due to some very strong tail winds that were predicted to cut our flight time by almost an hour, we had to leave later. Sydney has a strict policy on when planes can land and we couldn't be there too early. As it was, even with leaving ...
