Awoke with a start as a result of some really bad dreams. Not being attacked by a homicidal maniac? Not falling down a steep ravine, or even being naked in public! No it was halfway through my second chicken leg...the guilt was too much, although they did taste good as I recall. After that shakey and unsettling start headed off in the direction of Margaret River, about a 3 and half hour drive. It was a pretty uneventful journey apart from a couple of minor sightings. The first, just outside M...

More sleep issues today, as it would appear I'm not quite in Australian time yet! Initially slept okay, but then once the body was rested the brain said 'wake up, its party time'! Hmmmm never was one for a party!
Anyway today had a plan, no really, coffee, CaveWorks (to learn about caves), then back to Mammoth Cave and the associated walk, followed by lunch on the beach. Sounds good eh??? Coffee was good, headed off to Prevelly and stopped at Gnarabup...

... The car was my coccoon and as I had no passengers it was a physical extension of my own head space. Thats right people, the monoblg found a way to be verbalised without anyone around me knowing. I set off from Perth down the freeway on the Thursday before Easter (fairly busy time on the roads) and let all of my thoughts come spilling out, well out LOUD. "OK yellow car with 'Magic Happens ...
Margaret River, Australia samaraclifford... for me in 2009. So it sounds like I don't have so much to do - but don't worry - in between my jobs and looking after and exercising Star and Blaze - Roger and the farm keep me busy. Roger and I are helping to look after his mums garden as she is a bit poorly and can't keep up with it herself at the moment. I am learning alot and we get lovely fresh organic veggies as payment, not to mention the sense of achievement when a good crop is harvested ...
Cowaramup, Western Australia, Australia suzy_n_phil... boys, in MR for one night only, and clearly intended to make the most of it. Unfortunatley, this mostly backfired on us, as we were told by the management the next day that we'd be asked to elave and lose our deposits if we made as much noise the next night...wasn't even us!! Cheek! The next night me Lynne and Stug headed out again (and met up with Germaine, a friend from work in Perth), when we returned to the campsite we were reluctant to ...
Margaret River, Western Australia, Australia laura-scot... br>We grabbed her just in case the snake came our way, but it seemed pretty non-plussed by our presence and didn't seem very interested in us. While we backed away it slithered across the path to the beach, and it was so long that it covered the whole width of the path! Aye carumba...

The adrenalin was definitely pumping through us ...

Margaret River, Australia bafreux... face on it's top heat setting! It was unbelievable, never feel heat as intense as that. We wandered down to the river to check out what was happening and made our way to Langley Park where we had heard some bands were playing. We were lucky enough to get there just in time for Youth Group who have a song that went to #1 in Oz, "Forever Young", which will always remind me of my time in Oz. The poor guys though, they didn't have much of a crowd since everyone ...
Margaret River, Australia sharonmanshipOne of the many things Western Australia is known for is its wine production and there's a small region down south called Margaret River (Margs to the locals) that I decided to check out for my last few days on the West Coast. It was hard to leave the Perth gang, but it had to be done. I can't remember any other city/location on this trip where I spent nearly two full weeks & ...
Margaret River, Western Australia, Australia sabarodAfter the Gloucester Tree we drove to Augusta. We didnt stop in the town, we went straight to the lighthouse. It is located at Cape Leeuwin, the most Southern Westerly tip of Australia, where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. We went on the guided tour which allows you to walk up the lighthouse to the very top and you can even go outside once at the top - which ...
