Continental breakfast for all the vets and spouses, etc. Sitting with Vince's adopted Navy friends of 40 plus years. I am sitting next to a WWII vet who was in Pearl Harbor on December 7th. He was 18 years old and served on one of the USS New Orleans, which was in the naval yard at the time and the ship was hit with lots of shrapnel which was scraped after the war. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and he is the last on from Kentucky.

Made it to the lodge this afternoon. Now we have all been summoned to the main building because of a tornado watch that may quickly develop into a warning, at which time we will all be moved to the basement shelter. We had another great road trip day. We left Morehead a little after 8:00 am, went across the time zone into Central Time, and arrived at Mammoth Caves around 11:30 am CT. We drove around Lexington, Kentucky and passed the Keaneland Horse Track, that was surrounded by rolling hills with white fences....definitely what we think of when we think of Kentucky.
