... it as far as Lumberton, NC, which is about 11 miles from the SC border today. 6 1/2 hours on the road, which is plenty for me. It was a beautiful drive today, but I am glad I was not on I-95 northbound. The north lanes were bumper to bumper slow almost all the way. Good to be going South.

... right to finish out the loop. After finishing up the loop, I stopped to get a couple more pictures of the Rockefeller House before heading back to the parking lot. Although we didn't see anyone in the park during our hike, there were a few people heading in as we were making our way back. I guess we weren't the only ones who wanted to get out for a nice hike on a chilly Thanksgiving.

Today was Rod Broadbelt’s annual hike in Raven Rock State Park. The hike started at 8, but it’s over an hour drive to the park so I left at 630 and got to the park a few minutes before opening. While we were there we went to a festival in the nearby town of Benson. Mule days is basically a big red neck festival. The streets were filled with markets and food vendors. People rode the market streets on horses, mules or hotted up golf buggies and the town streets were bustling with pick up trucks filled with people drinking in the back and their confederate flags blazing. ...
