Friday saw us have a really big sleep in (Phil needed some time to order some parts), so it wasn't until the late morning till we left the hotel and headed out to see some Race Parts Shops - Phil and his dad were very happy to be looking into the shops while Phil's Mum and I waiting patiently in the car. ... the USA from the East Coast to the West Coast, ending up in North Carolina. Meaning we have passed through the States of Washington, Idaho, Montanna, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and North Carolina (through 14 states!)
Some people here have never even been outside their State - so we have gone through quite a few!
... but it was good.
We had a mostly good night's sleep, and got up early again. We had to eat breakfast, pack up and check out, and hit the road in time for Heidi to make her 1:15 pm Chemistry class in Mooresville.
We arrived in Mooresville in time to unload the car and take Heidi to class. We took her because at least one of our cars is not running ...
... wrap with a bulgar wheat salad (100% on point). We ate in the gardens then went hiking down to the river and geocached a bit. In town, we went to a local brewery called Wicked Weed and enjoyed some beers and good eats. (Looking back on this all we did was eat and drink all weekend...) I haven't had boiled peanuts since David's been 1 so I indulged. They were delicious and reminded me just like how my mom used to make them for us. I also got a trout sammie ...
... Richmond's car, saw the engines I'd like to smuggle back to Australia and put in my car. Just an awesome Experience.
From there we headed across to the Concord Airport business park to the Richard Petty shop. As a small team, there wasn't much to see here, but the ladies on the front desk went out of their way to help us find some Petty memorabilia to bring back home with us. Really friendly place. They suggested that we visit Marcos Ambrose Motorsport shop to see ...
