After Mount Rushmore we headed for home on Highway 90 E. We stopped at Wall Drug for the necessary buffalo burger and five cent coffee, managed to get away without any knickknacks, and took a few goofy photos for the blog. Ventured out of the Phoenix heat for a trip to Chicago/Wisconsin. My family has a cottage (small lake house/cabin) on Lake Koshkonong near Madison Wisconsin. Coming to the cottage all weekends in the summer is my biggest regret for not living near Chicago. So my compromise is to come to the cottage at least a year. The cottage is a magical place with so much nature and beauty right on the lake - but a second/weekend home brings lots of work as the elements and age of the property ...

I also continually fight bringing up the AuroraWebcam site! I'm a night owl anyway. If I continue this route I'll stay up all night "viewing". But nothing could compare to the feeling of standing under that starry night and watching the miracle of that color jumping across the sky.
