    ... way to our house and they were able to fix. Ride was nice surprisingly cool most of the day about 500 miles. Had a nice dinner at Red Lobster took our showers and now time to relax. Back on road tomorrow about 7:30am. Will post tomorrow night at next ...

    ... 5 PM and were pleasantly surprised when the hotel clerk gave us an upgraded room…actually 2 rooms, one a typical hotel room and the adjoining room made up as a living room. Very comfortable!! We have managed to make it to the Elite Status with La Quinta and are enjoying the benefits of our loyalty.

    ... Normally this would be a challenge for me, but two days on the road got me into the early-waking mindset. We first raised the outer walls of the hoop houses to let in fresh air, then began weeding the lettuce beds. The entire first day was weeding -- nine hours of it -- which is pretty much what I was expecting, though I didn't realize quite how much had to be done.
