          ... able to visit places like the Smithsonian museums, Arlington cemetery, Capitol Hill, Lincoln memorial for no cost at all. I would definitely recommend spending more than a day or two to visit DC's many attractions. I finished the day with a dinner with the Rochon's at the oldest restaurant in DC, the Old Ebbitt Grill.           Just to get from our campground in Jonestown, PA to Dumfries, Virginia, a total of 135 miles we crossed 4 states (Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia). No wonder we are confused about where we are! It's too bad we camped so far from Washington, DC but we weren't sure we were even going to tour it or just get heading south.           Did I say it was hot on the previous days as nothing has changed , it's hard to believe they get snow here in winter. The proof of this is that they have a snow emergency lane on the major roads. We got to the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum when it opened at 10:00 am. We were advised that would took many hours to get through it and this information proved to be very correct as we left close to closing time.
