... hot for staying
at too many freedom camping spots without air conditioning so we went
to Magic River Resort near Guildport Mississippi. $18 a night with
Passport America, a pool (which half the family is using while I type
this), small playground which Kaitlin enjoyed for a few minutes and a
very quiet stop with only 15 RV spaces. Tomorrow we head to Louisiana
and maybe a stop in New Orleans if we can Google how that will work
with an RV.

Now starting to get into the "early morning departure" routine, the little EZ was back out into the sunshine and ready to fly by 0830hrs! We said our goodbyes and heartfelt thanks to Thom and Veronica; they waved us off as we took off to the east, and to our surprise we encountered a bank of low cloud/fog ahead. Vacation is just around the corner .. thank goodness. By Thursday of next week, we will be westward bound. Can't wait to get some relief from the heat.
Starting to gather together all our maps and guidebooks for the trip. Got our old faithful .. Fedor's National Parks of the West .. along with AAA Tourbooks and maps. ...
... state lines, historic roadways, and noteworthy locations. Try to take a group photo at the start of each day. We keep a small pair of binoculars in the front pocket of the luggage. They could come in handy to see what’s up ahead of you on the road or to view wildlife in the distance. If you wear glasses (like I do), take a cheap spare pair along with you rather than your everyday pair — in case you lose them, misplace them, sit on them, squish them while packing, ...
... It might be the last vacation we will be able to do together as next year she will be graduating from college and who knows what the future will bring. I think she has enjoyed these vacations as much as I did.
