It looked like it was going to rain today but after we looked at the weather we decided a short ride or getting a little wet was better than riding in the truck or sitting around today. We briefly debated going to the train ride in Bryson City but we all slept in a little late after last night and it would have been a rush to get there in time. We ended up getting a late start (shortly after noon) but headed out on the bikes because we came here to ride after all. We got in almost ...

Lots of Pictures- Get a feel for the road. I took I 77 west to the tunnel which crossed into West Virginia and took SR-598 to Bluefield where you see the first great vista. 598 hits 19 s to Tazweil where Rt. 16 starts, "The Back of the Dragon". Wow what a ride. I followed 16 to Rt. 58 at the Log Cabin Store in the pictures. Rt. 58 was a surprise because I was expecting rolling curves and country riding ...

It turned out to be a scientific wonders type place.

I included some pictures of the traffic, too. You might expect crazy traffic stuffed ...

... had a stop light with just one signal head, hanging from a wire overhead, dead center of the intersection. I can’t recall seeing this type of setup before, but I can tell you it looked like it was very old. It could be the original signal for all I know. We have noticed that in the eastern part of the US, they don’t use light poles with arms like they do out west. I find that they are often hard to see if you pull up too close to the ...

... He also mentioned Melissa Moore. Small world. He showed me a picture of him showing his horse and he looked really good. The Day of Elijah was good and the vocalists were outstanding. The dinner, not so much. The roll was pretty good!

We got back to the coach about 9:00 and I realized that I had missed a FaceTime with Trent and Eva and Britt. Got ready for bed and turned in as we have a full week ahead of ...
