Made it out of Cedarville, CA & a nice cruise to Gerlack NV. Good riding with a light tailwind, low traffic and good scenery. Water rules all out here; where it is there is green and human activity. In between are the dry places but lots of lizards, plants and interesting terrain. Gerlack is the gateway to Burning Man and its 68000 visitors. The other 51 weeks it ...

... downtown Portland. At Food Carts I’m getting myself a Rainbow Pad at one of the Thai stands. We get our lunch and sit on a square nearby where kids play in the water fountains enjoying this hot spring day. We discover we don’t only have 'birth’ in common, but also a love for books and head over to Powell’s Book, strolling around looking for more words to read to balance our non-stop conversation for the past two days. I’m ...

... We grabbed a beer and some good dinner. We talked about life, love and of course old college frat buddies. It was cool hanging with him as an adult and not like back in college in 1994. It was a short visit because I had to hit the road to find my place to stay for the night. But we had a good time and I think we will be good friends from now on because of that visit. Plus now I got a place to visit in Oregon in the future. ...
