... Oregon, which we thought was totally spectacular. We first intended to spend the night in Burns, but when we arrived there it became apparent that it had a population of under 100 people (no matter how big it looked on the map) so we went along to Bend, the skiing and outdoorsy capital of Oregon. Here we went out to dinner at Old St. Francis School, an old Catholic school that was renovated into a second run movie theater ...
Eugene, Oregon, United States nelmieux... he is healing our wounds.
At night I struggle with sleep, trying to keep the images from my mind. I often fail. I ask you to please not tell me how you don't like dog parks or your horrendous animal story, I've heard enough and I hurt too deeply. Instead hold us in your hearts, give a donation to your animal shelter and hug someone you love.
With Love,
Renee
... reminds me of Neyland stadium with the jumbotron minus the 108,000+ stands. We ran a few laps around the track and then continued our run through the campus. It's a very nice, clean campus. After sneaking into one of the dorms and taking a "shower" in the bathroom, we got some food in our bellys. We thought about maybe going out around town, but we were tired and just wanted to crash ...
Eugene, Oregon, United States ryan.r.smith.87When we arrived at Springfield it was already late and dark. We were all hungry. So it didn't took us long to get our stuff into the Hotel rooms (which by the way were huge with its own little kitchen and a sofa.) and get out to find a restaurant. But we couldn't go to the Brewery around the corner as planned since under 21 were not allowed. So we ended up going to Jack in the Box. Not a great start into holidays. But it was OK and fast and also ...
Springfield, Oregon, United States walterz... to lose Greg before the first fuel stop but due to not paying attention and the **** bike comms we had all purchased. Then during the course of the day Roger managed to break away too leaving Tim and I who never let each other get out of site after that. Mad dogs and Englishmen (not even mad dogs) go out in 100 + degrees in a black leather biking jacket but not one of ...
Eugene, Oregon, United States westcoast09... about 35 miles SE of Eugene. I had suspected that TDR was a special place before setting foot there, from perusal of the website and the welcoming emails about my reservation, but I was pretty amazed at what I learned about the place while there. TDR is the home for its owners, Amy Jo, Sally, Sam, and Milo, as well as being a kind of resort within a petting zoo, offering lodging in the form of rustic yet modern cabins and yurt, and a meadow that doubles as campground. But it ...
Westfir Oregon, Oregon, United States graciabarr... 5 was easy to find and the ride was quick and pleasant although very cool to start. I told Alex we would still have to pay attention and try to resist the 'horse back to the barn' urge. 410 miles is still 410 miles. We did OK stopping every hour or so. The ride through Seattle was swift since motorcycles are allowed to ride in the car pool lanes. The clouds ...
Cottage Grove, Oregon, United States edward.tanguy... and a formal dinning room. The leg from Ketchikan was pleasant but still boring. Alex and I went separate ways while on the ferry(s). I gave him money and a room key. He met someone his age and they pretty much kept themselves occupied. I spent my time visiting and reading on the main observation deck. I found myself a nice seat by the window on the starbored side (right side for you lubbers). However my peace was frequently interrupted ...
Cottage Grove, Oregon, United States edward.tanguy... We returned to Cottage Grove to pick up a newly-washed RV (they surprised us with that!) and headed back to the coast for a night at Umpqua Lighthouse State Park. This park is in the middle of the Oregon Dunes, and since it was a holiday weekend there were several thousand dune-loving ATV-riders camping out also. Each campsite seemed filled with at least 2 trucks, several ATV's, and way too many people. We moved on to get away from the crowds.
Cottage Grove, Oregon, United States lisapwinHello again.. Had an easy ride to my friend Mick's home outside of this small town.. His five areas backs up to a pretty good size river and he pulls a few fish from it as he wants... This is very beautiful country and green, green, green... Lots of rain especially this time of the year. Mick and I hooked up when I sailed into Ocean Side marina near Key ...
