... then off to Japan. It'll be a long flight, but I'm hoping to save up as much energy as possible so I can go out and hit up Tokyo a bit when I get there, so we'll see how that goes, and you all should hear about it.

Anyways, this isn't the most exciting entry, but I figured it was a good time to start this up! I promise it'll get more exciting as I experience the adventure that IS: Japan!

... there are no boats here. But there are Cottonmouth and other nasty, poisonous water snakes. Doesn't seem to stop anyone. Meanwhile the only wildlife I've seen is the squirrel that was assigned to my camp. I don't pretend to be able to read the minds of small animals, but if I had to guess I'd say this guy was up to no good. If all goes well I will park at a casino in Lake Charles tonight, stretch my legs and try a little blackjack. Wish me luck!

... I never planned on visiting this museum but, since almost everything else I wanted to do was closed or didn't exist anymore, I was stuck. Or, actually, stuck because the other choice was the Holocaust Museum. Anyway, I drove in to find that there was a ceremony starting on the grounds, so I parked in the back and walked in. ... highway speed. Speaking of highway speed, for the most part these secondary highways were two lane roads, with no shoulders, and speed limits of 65 - 70! No frontage roads and people just pulled out of their driveways into the 'fast lane'. Pretty scary!!! ... being able to sleep! Not going to do that again, you know! Good sleep, poor nutrition. The Baker was an excellent room to sleep in. Steven, who bought me drinks was "friendly." Nicole was the manager, though she was wonderful we chatted off and on. This is all old news, and stale. Howdy! The capital city of the state of Texas and the fourth largest city in America. The suburbs of Houston stretch as far as 50 miles north, south, west and east out of the city centre. ... parks we had been to yet but we also wanted to look around to choose where we wanted to stay for the winter. During the first week or two, we drove all over the 'Rio Grande Valley', home of the 'Winter Texans', and checked out many other parks, including the Autumn Acres park where Jan and John were. However, we didn't find any other park that we liked as well as Winter Haven and since the prices were comparable, we made arrangements to stay the winter ...

First trip on KLM I believe. With the limited number of flights into Kazakhstan (2/week) at this time, they made me leave a day early to make sure I made my connection. So I will have an extra day in Amsterdam on the front end. Plus I will be adding on several days on my exit.
