Only thing here is whitetrash and god

Beautiful beaches.

Too bad they are flanked by zealots and bikers. Been a long time since I had seen such racism co-existing with constant praise to the almighty (I know, usually go hand-in-hand).

If you are looking for a confederate flag boogie board, they have plenty to choose from.

White sand, clear aqua water...and lots of country families compliments of Alabama. If you can ...

Drying Out!

... had only brought my blender or food processor for making hummus ..... The water has receded quickly - one of the benefits of being on sand. We hope to be on the road early tomorrow. We are not sure how many stops will entice us as we leave Florida, cross Alabama and enter Louisiana. We also foresee some longer days of travel when we get to Texas so are doing some advance planning.

from Columbia to St. George

Because of a job interview in Tallahassee, FL, Larry and I decided to use the weekend prior to the interview to visit the surrounding area.  We'd been to Florida lots of times, but never to Tallahassee or the Panhandle. We left early Saturday morning.  It rained all the way down to Florida.  I had packed a picnic lunch from Zoe's--chicken salad, pimento cheese, fruit, and cookies.  We ate this in the car while driving. Our only stops were for gas and to buy ...

Day Forty Four

... we traveled along the Apalachicola River from Apalachicola to Panama City. This was undoubtedly one of the prettiest areas I have cruised thus far. The scenery was spectacular in its wilderness; seemingly untouched by man. Traveling through waters and country such as this inspires thought, awe and humbles one to remember the beauty of nature. /Though I tried to capture some of the scenery on my camera, it simply is not ...

Another repeat..beaches and fishing

... the boat and sailing it to the pier at the condo. Then it's a calm fishing day. Except, the first boat's motor catches on fire, out in the water. The only replacement is a pontoon, which isn't the best for casting. But nothing stops dedicated fishermen/women. There's enough fish for dinner! No suprise.

It's inherited.

... how to fish. Their wedding photos show Skip & Min leaving the reception with...fishing poles. So, here we are at a resort that has a fishing pier. And after we check in...the first priority is to check out the fishing sites, after going to the Post Office to pick up his fishing gear. Of course, Skip has already downloaded all the maps.

Back to PJ's & found our new RV 'home'

... it's better and it handles beautifully. It also has a slide-out, in the living/dining area (that the Dynasty didn't), which gives us quite a bit of extra 'living' area. However, it had a pull-out type sofa, that was not satisfactory for my use. So, the boys removed it and put it into PJ's house. Then I installed, in it's place, a twin bed with storage area underneath. I also added some ...

From Texas, to Georgia, then back to Florida

... With the telephone technology of today, she was able to move the business from Maui to Florida. We got there just as she was setting up and getting everything going. It was actually fun for me because it almost felt like we were back on Maui. We were talking to the owners of activity companies, activity agents and tourists who were all on Maui and we were acting like we were, too. The 'farm' is only a few acres but it has two small ponds (where Terry could fish), a large shop ...

Here we go Again

... to drive (10hours! ugh) to Miami where we stay overnight and then catch a 7:30am flight to Quito, Ecuador. We will need to take altitude sickness pills as we will be about 3000m above sea level when we land. We hear that the airport is something else as it is right in the middle of the city. A bit scary to land in I think. We will be ...

A close call...Then on to PJ's farm

... and the truck driver recovered enough for us not to really collide badly. The only damage was his side mirror banged ours, practically tearing it off and shattering the upper mirror (of the two mirrors in the bracket). By the time that we could pull over, he was gone and it would have been too much trouble to try to go after him (it's not easy to turn around with an 40" RV plus our Grand Cherokee Jeep SUV hitched behind)! Well, after the Perdido Key ...
