... the rows and rows of grapevines. Spring was just getting underway when we were there. There were some flowering trees, new grass growth, and even some of the grape vines had some color on them. It must be amazing at Harvest-time. The traffic through Nappa Valley on a Saturday was nuts! We had been up since 4 AM and had only eaten a breakfast sandwich in Syracuse, so we were famished. ... the critical element! Luckily, Patrick had his new iPhone 6 which has a much better camera than my phone, so we did get a few photos.

There was a farewell cocktail reception, followed by a sit-down dinner of steelhead. I thought it was yummy; not everyone did. We bid our farewells to our new acquaintances, hugged and thanked Nicole Kreigenhofer, our Tour Director, and headed back to the hotel to pack and to prepare for our 5 am wake-up ...

... made their money in the DotCom business. Before leaving SF we had some wonderful vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge. We crossed the bridge admiring the views of the city. Many cyclists and walkers were on the bridge. Just off the northern end of the GG Bridge is the eclectic little town of Sausalito. It reminded me of the Amalfi Coast with houses built on the side of the hills overlooking the water and lots of shops ...

The one thing to write about today is how strange some communities are. We are in a town where nobody smiles and it seems everybody is mad. I'm sure not everybody, but where ever we went; grocery store, gas station, hotel. I even started deliberately saying hello to people with a smile ...

... the flight, Shelley and another crew member held a Father's Day contest and John won by having the most grandchildren. The long air time didn't seem so bad!

We arrived around 12:30 PM SFO time and caught the complimentary shuttle to the hotel.
Luckily we were able to check in early. We hung out in the room a while, just recovering, you might say, until time to pick up our Road Scholar materials ...
