Today is our Concord, California concert. The last couple of days were fairly uneventful tour wise because we spent 16 hours on the road from Seattle to San Francisco, than since my family lives close, I spent another 2 and a half hours driving to their house in Monterey.

... the 1930s. Cut across to China town, really big, cllean and not smelly, lots of people were out playing music and cards. It had a really nice feel to it. We decided to have lunch on an old rickety balcony, that's part of a Chinese restaurant. Walking back out into the city centre we passed an Austrian opera singer who lived up to her stereotype. ... as I sat and waited till boarding time I was so tempted to just get up and go back to the hotel. Something told me that it'd be pretty ordinary and I was tired. But Alcatraz was the biggest surprise of all!!! It was completely brilliant. A fascinating three hours. I can't praise it enough.
